Iced Pear-Chocolate Sandwiches Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 8 slices of white bread
  • 1 large pear, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or using a double boiler. Set aside to cool.
  2. Trim the edges off the bread slices and cut them in half to make rectangles.
  3. Spread a generous amount of melted chocolate on one side of each bread slice.
  4. Place thinly sliced pear on top of the chocolate on one bread slice, and then place another bread slice on top of the pear, chocolate side down, to make a sandwich.
  5. Repeat until all sandwiches are made.
  6. In a small bowl, beat whipped cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  7. Spread whipped cream over the top of each sandwich.
  8. Place sandwiches in the freezer for at least 2 hours, or until completely frozen.
  9. Remove from freezer, let sit for a few minutes to soften, and serve.
