  3. Every day for the next week, feed the starter by discarding half of the mixture and adding in 1/2 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of filtered water. Stir well to combine.
  4. After a week, the starter should be bubbly and sour-smelling. It is now ready to use in your sourdough recipes.
