Red Fruit Crumble
Ingredients:
- 4 cups of mixed red fruits (e.g. raspberries, strawberries, red currants)
- 1/4 cup of white sugar
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of rolled oats
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
- 1/4 cup of chopped nuts (e.g. almonds, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the mixed red fruits, white sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Transfer the mixture to a 9-inch (23 cm) baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, and chilled butter. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix the ingredients together until they resemble coarse crumbs.
- Add the chopped nuts to the crumble mixture and mix well.
- Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the fruit mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the crumble is golden brown and the fruit mixture is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
