Vietnamese Salad Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 head of romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1 cup of bean sprouts
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 1 carrot, shredded
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup of chopped mint leaves
- 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro leaves
- 1/4 cup of chopped basil leaves
- 1/2 cup of chopped peanuts
- 1 jalapeƱo pepper, seeded and finely chopped (optional)
Dressing:
- 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
- 2 tablespoons of lime juice
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon of canola oil
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the lettuce, bean sprouts, cucumber, carrot, red onion, mint leaves, cilantro leaves, and basil leaves.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the fish sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, garlic clove, and canola oil.
- Pour the dressing over the salad and toss well to coat evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped peanuts and jalapeƱo pepper (if using) on top of the salad.
