Vietnamese Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 head of romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup of bean sprouts
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1 carrot, shredded
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup of chopped mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro leaves
  • 1/4 cup of chopped basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup of chopped peanuts
  • 1 jalapeƱo pepper, seeded and finely chopped (optional)

Dressing:

  • 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of canola oil

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the lettuce, bean sprouts, cucumber, carrot, red onion, mint leaves, cilantro leaves, and basil leaves.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the fish sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, garlic clove, and canola oil.
  3. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss well to coat evenly.
  4. Sprinkle chopped peanuts and jalapeƱo pepper (if using) on top of the salad.
  5. Serve immediately.
