Douillons with Apples

Ingredients:

  • 4 apples
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and core the apples. Cut into thin slices and place in a bowl.
  3. Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter to the bowl with the apples. Mix well.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into 4 equal pieces.
  5. Place the apple mixture in the center of each puff pastry square.
  6. Brush the edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg.
  7. Bring the edges of the puff pastry together and pinch to seal.
  8. Place the douillons on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Brush the tops of the douillons with the remaining beaten egg.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
  11. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
